Shillae was exposed to the industry at a very young age; however her family stressed the importance of education and academic excellence. Her parents kept her involved in a variety of activities ranging from Sports (basketball, track, & volleyball) to Dance (tap, jazz, & modeling) which ultimately helped shape her impressionable personality. Ms. Shillae was an excellent student throughout her young academic career… attending a prestige elementary school, and later becoming an exceptional student at one of Chicago’s top ranking high schools “Kenwood Academy”.
 

Unlike most teens her age who were trying to decide what dress to wear to the Junior prom or what color lipstick to use for their first date, Shillae was pursuing her modeling career taking numerous head shots and breathing life into cameras around the Chicago metropolitan area. With a developing interest in law and medicine the young star reached a turning point in her career that would redirect her view and reaffirm her dream of being a famous face to remember. Being challenged by a close friend and encourage by her mom Shillae auditioned for a print ad with Jet Magazine and was chose to be the “Beauty of the Week”, becoming the eye candy for admirers and the envy of young women around the country.
 

After graduating from high school in 1999, Shillae moved to Los Angeles to pursue a life dream of becoming a star. She enrolled at California State University in Northridge and majored in Business Accounting. Having developed a keen sense of determination, confidence; and a relentless drive to succeed, she quickly signed with a modeling agency and made her presence felt immediately in the industry becoming the print ad’s “gorgeous face” for Motions Hair Care Products one of the USA’s leading distributors of hair care products supplying markets in over 7 countries. She also booked numerous print jobs, including fashion layouts for various magazines, hair ads, and calendars around the world.


In late 2001 Shillae decided to take her career to new heights and pursued other media outlets… She landed roles in numerous Music videos working with Grammy Award winner Justin Timberlake, Multi Platinum Artist Ja Rule, and R&B’s heartthrob Multi Platinum Recording Artist Avant to name a few… Now having her feet wet behind the camera and successfully crossing over to the big screen this business savvy Diva transposed her talents to acting in 2002, landing
leading roles and features in numerous movies, television sitcoms, and commercials. Even after years of hard work and an extensive resume that can easily be a “blueprint” for aspiring young talents, she claims that “she is just getting started”!

She is an American Model and Ballet dancer. Kloss was born in Chicago, Illinois, and her family moved to suburban St. Louis, Missouri in 1995. Before making it as a model, Kloss studied at Caston's Ballet Academy in 2002, a prestigious dance school in St. Louis. She soon became very talented at dance, and was in a number of performances such as the Nutcracker. Kloss has called her classical ballet training "a beautiful thing" that taught her how to move in the modeling world and was a great training ground for her runway walk.
When Kloss was 13, she was discovered at a charity fashion show in St. Louis. She was encouraged and inspired to model by one of her teachers in Webster Groves High School. In 2007, she signed with Elite Model Management.

After New York she went on to walk 20 shows in Milan, and 13 in Paris for the fall 2008 collections, with a total of 64 shows in a single season. Kloss found herself in the middle of a legal dispute when her former agency Elite was suing NEXT for allegedly stealing away its young star by offering her "improper compensation" to sign. Elite felt they were responsible for launching her career and booking much work for her. The case was eventually settled out of court.
She was named the best model by People magazine in 2008. Kloss, labeled her famed runway walk a "moody gait." Molly Sims, whom she considers a mentor, told New York she thinks Kloss is the type of model who will still "do well at 30" because of her classic look. In 2011 Kloss renewed her contract with Christian Dior for the third season in a row. The same year, she made her debut in the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Mendes was "so ashamed" by her performance in the film that she decided to hire an acting coach so that she wouldn't "squirm" when watching herself in future roles. Mendes spent several weeks at the Cirque Lodge addiction facility in 2008 to address "some personal issues". She later said that she will never publicly disclose details of her condition because "I have to think of the pain it might bring my mother." She now attends therapy sessions which have "enriched my life. I come from a family and a heritage where you don't really go to therapy unless you're crazy. I want people to know that that's so not the case."
In 2011, Mendes visited Sierra Leone to speak with rape victims and raise awareness of the problems in the area.
